Active Frequency Multipliers provide larger output power than the passive multipliers described on page 9 and 10 of the Spacek Labs catalog. |
Achievable output power is typically +17 dBm up to 48 GHz and +7 dBm for 50 to 110 GHz output frequency range, more for narrowband models. |
Standard multipliers are of balanced or doubly-balanced configuration to provide at least 15 dB undesired harmonics suppression even without using output filters. This is important for multipliers with octave bandwidth where filters cannot be used because the desired and undesired harmonics overlap. However, filters are used for narrowband multipliers giving at least 50 dB improved signal purity. |
In addition to the standard multipliers described below, custom designed units are available with large selection of input/output powers, frequencies and multiplication ratios. |
|
|
1- Minimum for 12 dBm power 2- Better signal purity for narrow bandwidth model 3- Female connectors standard - male optional 4- +10 dBm minimum output power optional |
Varistor Multipliers |
The standard multipliers described below utilize variable resistance Schottky barrier diodes as the nonlinear element. All are of balanced configuration to suppress undesired harmonics, unconditionally stable for any input/output VSWR and they cover complete waveguide bandwidth (except at W-Band). |
